64ビットモードで起動する†

Snow Leopard から 64bit モードでの起動が可能になったが， Xserve 以外ではデフォルトは 32bit モードで起動する．

なお，対応している機器は，Core2Duo 以降の CPU や Xeon の機器で， 64bit EFI が載っている機器．

64bit モードで起動するには起動時に「6」+ 「4」を押しながら電源を入れればいい．

また，デフォルトのモードを変更するには，

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

を以下のように変更すればいい．

変更前

   <key>Kernel Flags</key>
   <string></string>

変更後

   <key>Kernel Flags</key>
   <string>arch=x86_64</string>
